The Department of Aquatic Resources Management (DARM) was originally founded after the integration of the Division of Fishery Biology and Department of     Hydrobiology in 1981. These two sections were originally created at the same time with FFMS in 1963. The DARM has administratively reinforced through the Decree of the Ministry of Education No. 0546/1983 and reinstated through the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Culture No. 0110/0/1985.

Undergraduate SPARM has been “A” accredited issued by the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture and it is valid until 2018; has been certified (ISO 9001:2008) by Sucofindo International Certification Services; and has been well prepared to be accredited internationally by AUN QA as mandate of IPB to support the vision of becoming the leading institution engaged in national dignity through excellent higher education of international standard in tropical agriculture, marine science, and bioscience.
